About the film

Imagine a world where new medicines are discovered in days instead of years, where batteries last for weeks, not hours, where data is nearly impossible to hack, and clean energy is no longer a dream but a reality. These breakthroughs, and many more, are within reach, thanks to one of the most powerful tools science has ever pursued: the quantum computer.Since physicist Richard Feynman’s call to action in 1981, scientists and engineers around the world have been chasing this vision, trying to harness the strange, powerful laws of nature to solve humanity’s most complex problems. Progress has been steady but hard-won, marked by skepticism, setbacks, and the quiet persistence of those willing to go further. In 2023, a major milestone was reached. A pioneering team at IBM unveiled Quantum System Two, an entirely new quantum computing platform, redefining what’s possible and pushing the boundaries of what was once considered science fiction. It was the result of years of lab work, deep research, and sleepless nights, an effort fueled by passion, sacrifice, and the belief that this technology could change the world. This film captures that story.Through unprecedented access to the people behind the machine, we dive into the lives, challenges, and breakthroughs of the IBM team. We’ll explore how the technology works, how the system was designed, and what it took, personally and professionally, to bring it to life. This is more than a story about science. It’s about vision, perseverance, and the power of human collaboration. A reminder of the good we can achieve when we work together. The future of quantum computing is still being written, but this was the moment everything changed.
